Annick de Witt proposes that we are living through a worldview crisis: a breakdown in the deep frameworks of meaning through which people interpret reality, organize their values, and make sense of what it means to be human.
The talk traces how four distinct worldviews - traditional, modern, postmodern, and integrative - coexist within contemporary populations, each with its own answers to the fundamental questions of what is real, what is good, and how society should be organized.
Empirical work on these worldview has also led to a practical educational tool, one now used in classrooms and civic settings to open genuine dialogue across worldview divides.
Annick also draws on eudaimonic philosophy to hold development and dignity together - and points toward what an education and politics adequate to this moment might actually look like.
